Restaurant Week ME Profile
Restaurant Week ME Profile | Client Profiles

More and more, Maine is becoming widely identified with the quality of its foods, chefs and restaurants. It's become quite a foodie destination, rivaling much bigger cities around the country.

The time had come to celebrate Maine restaurants and chefs and create an event for people to just dine out more. The weak economy of early 2009 combined with the usually slow late-winter season seemed like a perfect time to kick off a Restaurant Week event in Maine.

The first annual event, held March 1-10, 2009, beat everyone's expectations and the reviews are glowing - diners were happy, chefs were happy, restaurants were packed - and we instantly had an annual event that people already have on their calendars for next year: March 1-10, 2010.

• During RestaurantWeekMETM, 70 participating restaurants served specially priced, three-course meals for ten days, March 1-10. Restaurants could choose to offer a menu priced at $20.09, $30.09 or $40.09.
• Although based on the model of Restaurant Week events around the country, RestaurantWeekME is the first of its kind to be a statewide event - participating restaurants in 2009 spanned a 180-mile area around the state.
• Restaurantweekme.com received 21,000 absolute unique visitors and over 150,000 page views. Over 1,300 people registered online to receive event updates by email.
• RestaurantWeekMETM was conceived of, planned and promoted by the gBritt PR team, whose fingerprints can be found on other well-known and Maine culinary events such as Harvest on the Harbor, Taste of the Nation, the Diageo Speakeasy and others.
