The Front Room Restaurant & Bar The Front Room Restaurant & Bar is located in Portland's scenic Eastern Promenade/Munjoy Hill neighborhood. Serving "updated comfort food" in a boisterous, hip, urban-residential setting, The Front Room has a devoted local following and continues to garner enthusiastic acclaim from regional and local press, including Down East magazine, the Portland Press Herald, Portland Magazine, and the Forecaster. The Portland Phoenix recognized The Front Room as the city's Best New Restaurant of 2006.
The Grill Room & Bar The Grill Room & Bar is Harding Lee Smith's second restaurant. The anticipated opening of the restaurant drew immediate crowds for lunch and dinner and has been packed ever since opening in May 2008. Located in Portland's historic Old Port district, the "urban steakhouse" features a wood-fired grill and pizza oven, open kitchen, and local, organic, and all-natural meats from Wolfe's Neck Farm in Freeport, ME. With the same lively but comfortable rustic ambiance as The Front Room, The Grill Room serves lunch and dinner seven days a week and the bar serves a unique late-night food menu. The Grill Room is nominated for the Portland's Best New Restaurant of 2008.
Coming Soon... The Corner Room With a customer demand still exceeding the capacity of his first two restaurants, Smith is opening his 3rd Portland restaurant this spring. The Corner Room will inhabit the windowed corner Old Port space formerly occupied by the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. Serving fresh housemade pastas and artisanal breads, The Corner Room will feature affordable rustic Italian food at its exquisite best.
